It is both a tertiary amine and a triol (contains three hydroxyl groups), making it highly versatile as a chemical intermediate, neutralizing agent, emulsifier, and surfactant. TEA is widely used in cosmetics, personal care, cement grinding, textiles, lubricants, and detergents.
