Ethyl Carbitol has low setting point and low viscocity at low temperature so it is used in manufacturing Brake Fluid. Ethyl carbitol is used as a flow and gloss promoter in paint industries. The extendability of solution has also increased. Ethyl Carbitol is used in production of printing ink and as a cleaner in offset printing.

Diethylene Glycol Monoethyl Ether is used in textile as a solvent for dyestuff in the printing and dying of fiber & fabrics. Ethyl Diglycol prevents the gel formation in liquid detergent and cleaner formulation. Diethylene Glycol Monoethyl Ether is also used a solubilizer in drilling and cutting coolants. Ethyl Diglycol is used in the production & formulation of pesticides & wood preservaties. Due to its low volatility property it is used in Indian & ink ball point pastes. It is also used in cosmetic & perfumary industry as a solvent. Ethyl diglycol (Ethyl Carbitol) does not attack rubber.
